Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament

Think you have Smash Bros. Brawl skills? Or maybe you’re just interested in playing some video games afterschool and participating in some fun competition. Either way, sign up afterschool at The Spot (Cafeteria) or by leaving a comment here with your first and last name and JHS student ID number.

The competition will take place Friday, November 20, from 3:15-5:00. All participants get free food (audience members will need to complete a short survey and interview). The winners have the chance to win the following:

1st Place: $20 gift certificate to Serramonte Mall
2nd Place: $15 gift certificate to Serramonte Mall
3rd Place: $10 gift certificate to Serramonte Mall

Halloween Costume Contest

Celebrate Halloween this Friday after school with the F.A.C.E.S. Folks at the Spot (the JHS Cafeteria). Enter the Halloween Costume Contest or complete a survey to get Free Treats. The top three costumes will win a Serramonte Shopping Center Gift Certificate usable at any one of their stores.

F.A.C.E.S. = Friday Afterschool Culture & Entertainment at the Spot

If you didn’t already know, Liwanag Kultural Center (LKC) and PYC-San Mateo County (PYC-SMC) are trying to build a great afterschool opportunity on Friday’s at “The Spot”, aka the JHS Cafeteria. It’s called F.A.C.E.S. (Friday Afterschool Culture & Entertainment at the Spot) and you can get more info on what we’re trying to do by clicking here.

In the next few weeks, the F.A.C.E.S. folks will be distributing flyers to get a sense of the kinds of things JHS students do after school and are interested in doing. We’re hoping to be able to create some great events each month to highlight and celebrate Jeff’s diversity and vibrant youth culture.

So please be sure to fill out those surveys. If you already have an idea for an event, please share it with us by using the “YOUR TURN” link above.
