F.A.C.E.S. – Friday Afterschool Culture & Entertainment at the Spot

F.A.C.E.S. is a collaborative project run by the Liwanag Kultural Center (LKC) and its youth organizing program, Pilipino Youth Coalition of San Mateo County (PYC), with the help of the Daly City Parks & Recreation Department (DCPRD). What all that alphabetic aerobics means is that community organizations are working with the students and faculty of Jefferson High School to build afterschool events that reflect the variety of cultures and interests of the student body on one Friday of each month.

While we’ve been working to develop the project during the last school year, 2009-2010 brings with it a new name and a new F.A.C.E.S. team. If you’re a student or faculty member at Jefferson HS and are interested in seeing something specific happen at your school, please don’t hesitate to suggest an idea. Otherwise, come by The Spot (the JHS Cafeteria from 3:15-5:00) or check faces.liwanag.org regularly to find out what’s happening this month.
